Pray like Frank

“Lord Make me an instrument of your peace..”

I pray several different ways. Some days I use no format others I feel lost and lean into the structure of “The Lords Prayer” to keep myself on point with what I want to cover in my life.

Though some times I need to have a reminder of how I want to live my life in step with Christ. Enter Frank, St. Frank that is! Ok, ok no I’m not Catholic and no I’m not denigrating a saint I use “Frank” because it seems more modern and I had a hard time remembering “Saint Francis of Assisi” ok.

So, I use this to pause in my day when I feel as though I might react to someone in anger or simply react rather then have a thoughtful response. Go ahead and try it out.

Peace Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
